ABOUT US / CONTACT US
Because your security is important, you want to be well-informed about ever-changing threats to your home and small business computers. Spyware Blocker Guide was created to offer you assistance in finding top-quality information on computer security topics, products and services. We know it's a challenge to extract the select sources of really useful information, even if you have lots of time to wade through the vast sea of information available from the Internet, print and other media sources. It's an additional challenge to put into action the good ideas you find.
We have gathered for you content from a broad range of sources, including authoritative, independent reviews, reports and articles, public and paid-for, online and offline. Most of our information presented for you here is non-technical, geared primarily towards those who use computers at home or work, but who are not experts on spyware or other computer security topics. If you are an expert, please consider recommending this site to others who don't share your level of expertise.

Fair enough?
We are a group whose members share a keen interest in computer security issues, and a belief that the public benefits from improved computer security. Collectively, our backgrounds and interests include IT (information technology), business, marketing and Website security.
If we recommend products or services, you can rest assured that we believe that they are top-of-category, taking into account our own experience with them, as well as outside opinions when applicable. Those outside sources may include independent, expert reviews. The recommendations are opinions, no more, no less. You may find that a different product or service works best for you. What really matters here is that you find what works best for you, so let us know. You are encouraged to draw your own conclusions, and let us know what you think. We do not base our recommendations on any compensation or other incentives.
What we'll clarify for you here are our site practices, similar to what you'll see on other reputable sites throughout the Internet.
Links Policies: You'll find recommended here some resources for products or services with which we have no financial or other relationships. In some cases, we may be an affiliate of a particular product or service. So, how can we reasonably recommend something for which we have a such a connection? Simple. We choose affiliate relationships from among the products or services that are top-of-category, to the best of our knowledge. There are many dozens of items we have chosen not to recommend (including many high-commission items), for one reason or another. If you are in a computer store, and a knowledgeable technician or salesperson whom you trust suggests something in response to your inquiry, wouldn't you consider it?
Here's how we pay our overhead. First, we do our best to provide folks like you with valuable information throughout our website and other forms of communication. At some point in looking over our site, a visitor to our site may choose to click on one or more of our site's links. For many of the links, there are no revenues involved whatsoever. If a visitor clicks on certain links, e.g. a sponsored ad, then we may receive some revenue. Clicking on those links does not cost you, the visitor, anything. If a visitor clicks on certain other links, e.g. an affiliate link, and then chooses to purchase through that link on a vendor's site, there is no additional charge to the visitor, but we may receive some revenue. In some cases, we may actually be able to arrange discounts to benefit those who choose to purchase through links on our site.
If you see certain sponsored ads on our site, such as Google Adsense ads, the content is controlled by the ad vendor and the ad network, not by us. In some cases, we have taken steps to restrict the appearance of ads for certain products or services found objectionable by independent reviewers. If you see ads that you object to on our site, please let us know.
Our site's visitors arrive from a variety of sources. In some cases, they may arrive here by clicking on links from a web search engine, such as Google or other. As visitors use that search engine, they'll find that it offers them "results", usually links, in response to what their question or inquiry was. Those links may be "organic", that is to websites found by the search engine's search criteria, or those links may be for sponsored ads (those that appear are due to the search engine's ad-related criteria). Some authors have warned against the misinformation often found on sites tied to sponsored ads. We too have found lots of misinformation on such sites. We have also found plenty of misinformation in organic search results. We encourage you to take a "buyer beware" approach to all sources of information, whether online (organic or sponsored or other) or offline.
We value your privacy...
If you choose to share with us your personal information, you can be assured we will safeguard it, just as we would want others to protect our information. Should you request something from us, such as a series of articles or reports to be sent via email, and you later decide for any reason that don't wish further information from us, then simply "unsubscribe" using the links you will find in the communication we send you. If you ever get spam, it won't be from us. We hate spam just like you do. See our "Privacy Policy" for further details.
Cookies and other tracking items: We continually strive to improve improve our site's content and ease-of-use for you. To help with this, we may use "cookies" or other techniques to see what parts of our website need improvement or where visitors are coming from or going to. For example, if one part of our site is highly popular with users, we'll consider expanding the content in that section. If you choose to purchase something through a link here, then cookies may be used to help make the connections between links here and the vendor's site. If you don't want cookies, then simply adjust your web browser's settings to your preferences.
If you have problems with, or questions about, an item you purchased from a vendor through links here, then your fastest results will come from contacting that vendor directly. However, we would appreciate your letting us know too, because we want your experience with our site to be top-notch.

"No consumer would walk down the street waving a stack of cash or leave their wallet sitting in a public place, but far too many are doing the exact same thing online. Without basic protections like anti-virus, spyware protection and a firewall, consumers are leaving their personal and financial information at risk."
